Dangriga Town (https://goo.gl/maps/81Gra3VNkk8gwo5d7)
On the water’s edge, with dramatic views over the main reef wall and the open Caribbean Sea, is our dining area, with large raised verandah, lounge and resource library. The enclosed outdoor stoop is where your island guides give their fun and informative talks on the surrounding ecology each morning.
The camp is powered by solar generated electricity with freshwater showers, modern compost toilets and solar powered refrigeration. Guests sleep in comfortable wall-tent cabanas with beds, wooden floors, a night stand, lighting and can be outfitted for singles, doubles and familiy sizes.
Delicious meals featuring Creole and international cuisine are prepared and served buffet style in our open air dining area by our much beloved cooks.
The trip starts at our Dangriga office on Day 1 at 7:30 am. We then depart by charter boat to our Adventure Basecamp on Southwest Caye, within the Glover’s Reef Marine Reserve. After settling into your tent cabana, guides provide professional instruction – teaching sea kayaking, snorkeling, and safety in tropical seas before heading out on the water to explore the reefs.
Perfect days of sun, turquoise clear waters, coral reefs, great food and a full range of adventure activities for you to choose from each day. In the evenings we host informative sessions on the history and cultures of Belize, its unique marine ecosystem. Our last night includes a cultural night of Garifuna drums, dance and traditional foods.
Many wake early to enjoy their last morning at Glover’s. Our boat charter back to the mainland departs just after lunch. Your trip finishes in the town of Dangriga, where our support staff will expedite your land or air connections.
