Located deep in the Chiquibul Forest Reserve, Caracol is the largestMaya site in Belize
covering 75 square miles. The drive to Caracol will take you through the scenic Maya
Mountain Forest. Caracol at its peak time in history was a supreme city. Caracol has also the
tallest man made structure stretching 141 feet called Caana (Sky palace). Most of Caracol
hasn’t been discovered as yet. Caracol defeated Tikal in major battles and architecture of
Tikal mimics that of Caracol after defeat by Caracol. This tour also showcases landmarks of
Rio On pools and Rio Frio Cave.
