Lamanai

A spectacular site which means submerged crocodile hosts a mask decorated site with eight major plazas, its central core, north temples reaching 28m tall and adjacent is an ancient harbor. Getting there is amazing as you go on a boat ride providing an opportunity to see a variety of wildlife viewing majestic trees with overhanging air plants and orchids. Howler and spider monkeys can be seen on the huge Ceiba trees while walking in the park as well as countless birds.
