Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM)

Cave of the stone sepulcher is the most popular ceremonial cave in western Belize and is listed #1 by National Geographic in the Top Ten Sacred Caves as well as its magazine in the August 2001 issue. It is also featured in the Discovery Channel and History Channel. ATM features mesmerizing giant shimmering flowstone formations as well as stalagmites and stalactites. Journey through the same route the Mayas took hundreds of years ago. It has over fourteen burials, skeletons, ceramics, stoneware and much more scattered all over the sacred chamber (over 1,400 objects). It’s easy to see why it’s a #1 tour to San Ignacio. It’s named after the sacrificial chamber within the cave where the remains of a young Maya was found.
